BEFORE.— Who I am
I’m Víctor Pan, and since 2005 I’ve been a lawyer licensed with the Il·lustre Col·legi de l’Advocacia de Barcelona, bar number 29,905.
Law degree from the Universitat Pompeu Fabra. Master’s in Business Law from UPF. Postgraduate in Legal Practice from the Escola de Pràctica Jurídica del ICAB.
That’s the résumé. Now comes the truth.
When I was nine or ten I used to watch Perry Mason on TV3 and dream of becoming a lawyer. My first criminal client was my own father. I’ve always wanted to be a lawyer — even when it seemed impossible.
FIRST.— Where I come from
I grew up between L’Hospitalet, Barcelona, Mollet, El Masnou, and Cabrils — moving house more times than I can count. That itinerant childhood taught me early on that no one hands you stability, and that you have to build it yourself. That’s why I truly understand what it means to be treated as if you didn’t matter by someone who holds power over you.
SECOND.— Why I do what I do
Employment Law
My parents, my grandparents, my great-grandparents — all of them were working people. When I defend someone who’s worked hard and is owed what’s rightfully theirs, I’m defending them too. It’s a privilege.
Criminal Law
I believe in defense, not in punishment for its own sake. When I manage to get a client back a year of freedom, that’s one more year for them to rebuild their life.
THIRD.— For anyone reading this who’s in the mud right now
If you’re going through the worst moment of your life — if you’ve been fired, if you’re facing a criminal case, if you feel like there’s no way out — I want you to know one thing: there is a tomorrow.
I won’t judge you. I’m not afraid of the mud. It’s where I come from.
FOURTH.— Shall we talk?
If after reading this you feel I can help you, I’m here.
